Guest Review by Ena: Finding Felicity by Monica Marlowe

Madeline O'Connor leaves behind her life in Manahattan to be at her sister's side in Italy when she learns that her estranged sister is gravely ill. Once there, Madeleine discovers an ancient Benedictine monastery that accommodates travellers, and she decides to stay there, among the monks. Everything in Madeleine's life becomes turned upside down when she falls for Brother Anthony Lamberti. Brother Anthony Lamberti a soft-spoken Italian completely different from the men she knows in New York. Together Madeline and Anthony find love for the first time, and they learn that life and love always find a way. When Madeleine's sister Carrie dies, a new life begins for Madeline. A new life that she would never have imagined and yet is perfect for her in every way.

At first I had trouble getting into the book because the plot was initially too slowly paced for my personal tastes. Then about 25 % into the book the pace picked up and I really found myself becoming more immersed in the story the more I read of it. I really loved the characters of Brother Anthony Lamberti, and Jonathon, Monica described them so well. The book is well written and descriptive in all the necessary places to enable you to enjoy the book. I will not go into details and give spoilers but I will say it was a shame that certain characters died within the story. Those characters had been so well described that you had become quite attached to them by that point in the book. So would I recommend it ? Oh Yes!
