BLURB from Goodreads
When a massive group of angels known as nephilim—half human, half angel—had been found by the Royal Council, they were taken to Halo City. Instead of cleansing the Earth with a flood, which had been done before, the Royal Council created a place just for this group of angels. While they were being taken, one of the Twelve, named Aden, rebelled and convinced many alkins to join his cause—to live freely among the humans and take over Crossroads.

After the fall of Aden and his followers, Michael was taken to Halo City to heal. Not only did Michael had a difficult time settling into his new environment, he had conflicting issues regarding his past. Upon meeting the alkins, a particular one by the name of Davin refused to give up on helping him deal with his struggles. Together, they discovered a strange being that would appear at the Crossroads at unexpected times. Souls wandering there is nothing new, but this one aged as time passed. Mystified, they both searched for answers while refraining from telling the Twelve about her. Who is this being that had enraptured Michael’s attention? And will Michael finally forgive himself and find the happiness that he yearned to have?

INITIAL THOUGHTS
This novella is answering the questions about what happened to turn Michael from a "fallen" to what he was when he met Claudia.

MY REVIEW
This novella is actually meant to be read after book three and before book four.Though I actually chose to read it after I had finished book four. I felt this novella answered the questions about how Michael turned his back on the fallen and came to be in Halo City when Claudia began visiting it in her dreams.
The book also tells of Michael being introduced to Davin, Vivian and Caleb. How Davin responds to Michael is at times hilarious. Davin tries to help Michael, but Michael refuses the help and attempts to shut everyone out. Where as Caleb and Vivian give Michael the space he is asking for Davin follows him around and provokes Michael many times. Davin and Michael are together when they see the light from Claudia. they are the ones that speak to her and end up taking her to Phillip. It is during the meeting Claudia has with Phillip that Michael is appointed to be her guardian angel. You do learn a lot of relevant facts and you kind of go"oh wow so that's why that ......happened" etc.
I could go on and tell you other things in the novella but I want everyone to read it for themselves. the novella helps you understand Michael more.
So did I enjoy the novella? Yes, I would say though it is meant to be read after book three I still found it really good and had certain questions answered when reading it at the end of the book series. Would I recommend this novella? Yes as you learn about the early friendship between Michael and Davin as well as learning how Michael was appointed to be Claudia's Guardian angel. Would I read more in this series? I've read them all and loved them all too. Would I read other books by this Author? I am in the process of reading Mary Ting's new book series From Gods.
